This is the place where I’m supposed to write about myself in third person. That always feels funny to me. Instead, on this site, I choose to just be and share with you the everyday side of me. First, I’ll cover the basics with the professional “deets” and then get back to more fun stuff.

I’m a violinist, violin teacher, author, self-help coach, Internet Marketer and many other things. I have three degrees.  I earned both my Bachelor of Science in Music Engineering Technology and a Master of Business Administration from Hampton University.  I obtained an Internet Marketing Master of Science Degree from Full Sail University.

I started violin at age 7 and continued to study and play through most of my adult life. I didn’t go the conservatory route because I had so many varied interests, although I’ve always LOVED my violin. While traveling a windy path, I considered careers in the music industry both as a pop singer, manager, audio engineer, A & R, and background dancer. (lol) I also considered careers in medicine, linguistics, law, psychology, chemical engineering, the U.S. Coast Guard and Finance prior to some DEEP soul searching after being laid off in 2001.

Discovering My Mission

During this time is when I discovered what my true calling, Purpose, Mission and Passion involved. After being without a job for almost a year, and feeling like many of my gifts and talents were being squandered, I asked myself a question that changed the rest of my life. “What can I do with my life that will allow me to use something that I love, a gift that I have been given, to share and impact the world and make a career out of it?” I thought to myself, “I LOVE my violin! I would LOVE to be able to do something with that!!!”  My roommate at the time, who is also one of my closest friends heard me, chimed in and told me about a violin teaching position at a local music store that was available, paying $16/hour.  I was ECSTATIC!  I took action immediately and the rest is history.

Through the medium of violin teaching, I am able to impact one by one, lives of children and adults in a manner that contributes profoundly to their development as human beings and in turn society in general. I am helping to reshape humanity one violin lesson at a time.

What I discovered was so incredible and brought so much joy to myself and others by being able to impart the following through violin teaching:

-Self-Discovery
-Self-Actualization
-Self-Perception
-Self-Confidence
-Self-Mastery

What also delights me is how serving in this manner allows for so much connectedness to the development of people.  Not only does all the above take place, but I also get to impart the following:

I have the privilege of helping to build agile, flexible, intelligent and problem-solving minds.  I get to share the values of discipline and routine for establishing sound habits.  Also in this capacity, I get to impart life skills such as goal setting, personal responsibility, time management, active listening, focus and visualization.

For me, this is my IDEAL position, for I get to put the “fun” in fundamentals in a way that nurtures the spirit of a child/human. What a blessing it is to be able to serve in this capacity!
